You did it for Me

Good Morning Fire Friends,

Do the things we do here on earth really matter? Do they make a difference? When Jesus spoke about the end times in Matthew chapter 25  he answered this question.

Matthew 25:34  ESV

Then the King will say to those on his right, “Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.”

Then the righteous will answer him, saying, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you or thirsty and give you drink? And When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?”

And the King will answer them, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”

When we do good to others in the name of Jesus…we do it to him.  We serve Jesus when we take care of what belongs to Him. This is a challenge for all Christians to love and take care of others in his name.  We as Christians talk a lot about how much God loves us but very little about how we express our love for Him. An outpouring of love and gratitude toward God is expressed through a love for those He cares about.  Mother Teresa once made commitment to God saying,   “I seek to love You as You have never been loved before. Here I am, send me.”   May her prayer be ours as well.  May we follow the example of the one who did truly love us as we have never been loved before….Jesus.  And may we show our love by loving each other.

“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends”

John 15:13  ESV

May the Fire burn brightly in you today.
